The traditional tavern restaurant Fagopotion Polopetros is located next to the Church of Panagia & Sotira in the lower square of the village Roustika at Rethymno, where Manolis Anagnostakis (1925-2005), a great Greek poet of the first post-war generation was born.
The tavern is a family business that for decades continues to faithfully serve traditional Cretan cuisine and friendly service.
Most of the ingredients we use, vegetables, meats, wine and raki are our own production, our village or the surrounding villages.
“Antikristo” (meat toasted facing the fire) is one of the reasons we are visited from all over the world and you will find it almost daily, but you will need to confirm your reservation a day earlier.
Very often Cretan music nights are organised and the feast lasts until the morning.
We can host events of up to 150 people.
